Outputs
  1. Complete collection of computerized data for population censuses and SUSENAS. All data sets have been documented and are held in secure archives in the three collaborating institutions.
  2. Consolidated SUSENAS data sets to allow analysis of core data at the district level for periods up to and including 2005, according to the district (Kabupaten/Kota) divisions and boundaries at the time of each enumeration.
  3. Curriculum to train staff and university students to carry out district level analyses of census and SUSENAS data.
  4. Comprehensive analytical evaluation of the 2000 Census and the 2005 Intercensal Survey, and recommendations for improving future data collections.
  5. Website publications providing guidance for district level analysis of census and SUSENAS data.

This section is mainly presenting output number 3 and 5, Development of curriculum to train staff at central and district levels to carry out district level analysis. This is conducted by preparing training modules to understand demographic concepts and indicators, their levels and trends, to strengthen analysis of population, social and economic issues at the local level. The distribution of the training materials via a website ensures easier access by local planners and policy makers. An off-line format of the training modules in the form of a CD is also available, especially for the local planners who have no access to internet.
